Psychoanalysis
The method

Psychoanalysis was created by Sigmund Freud, an Austrian neurologist, at the end of the 19th century and was later followed, studied, and practiced by several other psychoanalysts such as Jung, Ferenczi, Melanie Klein, Winnicott, Lacan, and many others.

Freud began with the "Talking Cure" method, where he realized that by talking, patients were able to get rid of their symptoms. He moved on to the method of free association, where the patient speaks freely. The device of speech is liberating, and this speech is a dialect that generates transformation.

Through the method of free association, the psychoanalyst helps the patient access their unconscious mind to recover repressed emotions, and thus, rid themselves of symptoms that can be very painful, causing fear, anxiety, depression, trauma, phobias, paralysis in life, and much "discomfort." Through psychoanalysis, the patient finds paths to their transformation. They transform fear into desire, into a project of fulfillment. They transform anguish into other affects. They find answers.
